![]() Where do I even begin with talking about my most recent event? If anyone has ever considered going to this event I highly recommend it. I knew very little about it, apart from the fact for the first time there was a Doctor Who specific convention on my door step in Bristol, and it was an intimate gathering of 100 or so guests. I thought it was worth the risk, after all, it's not every day I get to travel a mile down the road to meet like minded geeks like myself. The experience was delightful, seeing some of my favourite guests old and new again in such a calm setting. There are always queues at conventions, but this was a walk in the park compared to most. The attendees were as wonderful as the guests and I feel like in the course of the weekend it was easy to make proper friendships (I'm mushy leave me be.) Not to mention the guests! I was finally able to meet John Levene and Richard Franklin who were both wonderful and charming and worth meeting alone, without the likes of Jane Sherwin, Geoffrey Beavers, Keith Barnfather of Reeltime Pictures and Sophie Aldred, and that wasn't even the whole list. After some great Saturday night entertainment put on from Fantom films, both on and off the screen, we watched the new Series 11 episode Kerblam! as our convention finale. Whilst you may consider the price seems questionable, the autographs are included in the booking, and it even kicks off with a pub quiz on the Friday. Honestly, even if I wasn't trading, I'd be going back. So question is, will I be back to trade next year. Well, hopefully, if Paul and Dex will have me! So today's news! I will be trading this year at LFCC London in the Spring in their Artists Alley! Super excited. I hope to see you all there! I will be updating this website to add more new information in regards to events, so you can always find out where I'll be trading next.
Big Finish Day (or weekend) was one of this years wonders and it wasn't even an event I was trading at!
The social on Friday was great, sending time with the Whoovers and the We Sound Famillar group were amazing. 👌👌 When the official day began I got to meet one of my fav authors John Dorney who is constantly breaking my heart over his Ian and Barbara stories and went to the panel about writing and producing. I gave John artwork and we got the best photo! I also spoke to Matt Fitton and Alfie Shaw and they were really inspiring. I’m so glad I have been writing this year and need to keep pushing forward with that too! I also got to give art prints to Nicholas Briggs, Joe Lidster, Paddy Freeland, Sylvester McCoy and of course the wonderful Lisa Bowerman who was very happy with Karra!!! It earned me a massive hug too! I’m just genuinely being involved in the event & seeing everybody was amazing so many others it was a blast. Thanks to the Whoovers team and the Quad for organising it! I think the biggest thing really was how people reacted to seeing little me. Some of the guests knew me by name before I could introduce myself and some of the attendees said hello and just wanted to say they loved my work. I can’t get over that still. Thanks for an amazing trip. Whooverville next year here we come! |
